Choose the correct word to deliver a clear message

When you choose the correct words, you are more likely to deliver clear messages...

Fewer and less have different meanings.

Fewer refers to people or things you can count; less refers to general amounts.

Here are two correctly written sentences:

  1. There are fewer children enrolled in preschool this year.
  2. Next time, please put less cream in my coffee. 

Of course, I suppose you could say: Next time, please put fewer drops of cream in my coffee.
