Tasting notes
Château Montouliers Minervois AOC, Languedoc, 2008
This wine is a deep ruby colour with a purple hue.
On the nose are floral notes, red and black berries. tobacco, and instant coffee. The aromas are mirrored on the palate, with a lightly tannic and nearly full-bodied structure and a very pleasant juiciness. The Château Montouliers would work well with rare meat, but we`ll have it with left-over stew I turned into meat pies.
Twenty minutes after shooting the video, we sat down to dinner. The wine had already changed—evolved. Added to the aromas and flavours was a distinct, and lovely, black pepper quality that`s typical of the Syrah making up a good portion of the wine.
An hour after dinner, as I sat to write these notes, the wine had changed once again, softening and rounding but keeping all its flavours and aromas.
Salut!
