Yes, you heard it right. I'll be sniffing, swirling, sipping, and spitting while on the Grapes and Hops Presentation Stage at this year's EAT! Fraser Valley.
(Scroll down to find out how you can win two FREE tickets)
EAT! Fraser Valley returns once again to Tradex in Abbotsford (right by the Abbotsford Airport a.k.a. YXX). It's the first time, however, that Vancouver's Daenna Van Mulligen (Wine Diva) is unable to share her passion for and knowledge of all things wine at the event. I am so happy she passed my name on to the organizers when she discovered her scheduling conflict.
Those of you who know me well are fully aware that I am passionate about wine. I love it. And I really want everyone I know to love it, too.
I get excited when the conversation turns to anything remotely concerning wine and frequently suffer the raised-eyebrow stares of other guests around a dinner table as I swiftly and surely deliver myself to cork-dorkdom.
But, folks, I am not an expert. Nope. I sometimes amaze myself with the depth and breadth of my knowledge, but sure as shootin' I do not know it all. I literally learn something new about wine every day. And, really, isn't that grand? I love being a perpetual student of wine.
Here's when I'm on stage:
Friday, September 17 | 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 18 | 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 19 | 1:15 p.m.
WIN two tickets to EAT! Fraser Valley:
If you'd like two free tickets to any one of these dates, all you have to do is send me a wine-related question and I'll throw your name into the hat. I'll draw for the tickets from submissions on Wednesday, September 15. If you win, just pick up your tickets at the box office. And please, enter as many times as you'd like with one question per submission.
New this year to EAT! Fraser Valley is the first annual Food For Thought Pavilion.
Abbotsford’s Food for Thought initiative brings intercultural youth together around what sustains us: food. This multi-dimensional project includes leadership training for youth, workshops for business managers, and will conclude with this exhibition at EAT! Fraser Valley Food + Cooking Festival.
