In January's Abbotsford News column (page 17), I talk a little bit about getting stuck in a wine rut and letting past experiences affect today's wine choice. Enter Wyndham Estate's George Wyndham Founder’s Reserve 2010 Shiraz, a wine that earned a Good++ QPR rating and pushed aside all the stereotypes.
Like many people, I can fall victim to stereotypes in the wine world. That’s why I hesitate to try new Australian wines. You see, I have in my mind big fat fruit bombs, stuffed with as much alcohol as possible, and enough oak to build a small dwelling.
