Are you thirsty? Are you preparing to serve wine to 96 guests? Then a Balthazar is just your ticket!
A Balthazar is a large—make that very large—wine bottle that holds 12 litres of wine.
That, folks, is 16 750ml bottles (what we'd call regular bottles), or 96 125ml glasses of wine.
But wait, there are more over-sized bottles to fill your cellar...
Magnum --> 1.5 litres
Jeroboam --> 3 litres
Rehoboam --> 4.5 litres
Methuselah --> 6 litres
Salmanazar --> 9 litres
Nebuchadnezzar --> 15 litres or 20 regular bottles of wine
Melchoir --> 18 litres
Soloman --> 20 litres
Sovereign --> 25 litres
Goliath (also known as Primat) --> 27 litres
Melchizedek (also known as Midas) --> 30 litres or 40 regular bottles of wine
And, in fact, there are even more sizes than those I've listed above. Visit this article at TheWineCellarInsider.com to see a picture of various wine-bottle sizes and to read about additional bottle options.
Cheers to you!
